Last Design Wall of 2012!

It's my last design wall posting for 2012 and I have my Scrappy Rainbow Challenge blocks on the board today.
What a fun project this has been over the past year!
For anyone interested in the statistics, there are 672 little 1.5" squares in this quilt (56 per block) so far!
Now I am working on layout ideas but don't have a clue yet what I'm going to do, and am open to any and all suggestions! To see other design walls, hop over to Patchwork Times.

I plan to spend all of New Year's Eve day sewing a new mystery quilt from Fabricaholics Anonymous. All the fabric is cut (I am using up old batik pieces) and ready to sew...can't wait!

Happy New Year to all my quilting friends!
May 2013 be filled with the joy of quiltmaking!

Piano keys are always nice on scrappy quilts. I could also see a "dotted border with 1.5 inch squares alternating with background. Maybe even a graduated strip of squares running roygbiv around the outs tide -- though that would take a bit of planning. What ever you decide, it will be a great quilt. Congratulations.

Your quilt looks beautiful so far! I agree with Scraphappy's suggestion of a piano key border.

Your knot blocks are beautiful--love the colors and shading. I can't wait to see the outcome. I think an on point setting is a possibility. : )

Nice to see all the knot blocks together on the wall. What a bunch of scrappy things you are making. I'm going to just resist starting another mystery- too busy with finishing Easy Street this week...

Your knot blocks turned out beautifully! They look great as is but I'm sure you'll come up with a lovely idea for setting them. The mystery strips are enticing. Happy and healthy 2013 for you and yours is wished!

I have loved watching your knot blocks multiply over the year. They are really beautiful and will look striking however you decide to finish the quilt. Happy New Year!

Love the rainbow knot blocks. Couple of thoughts, how about setting them on point? Using either a dark color as the sashing or sashing each block in coordinating scraps, would make for some interesting intersections. You could use ligher scraps for the setting triangles. That would be a lot of work, so maybe just sashing each block in matching scraps and then set them together? However you set them, it will be a beautiful finished quilt.

great blocks I have enjoyed seeing them over this past year. fun to see what fabrics you used in each block. some would have been a challenge for me to make! guess a trip to the fabric shop would have been in order!!!
