Slow Sunday Stitching

Welcome to Slow Sunday Stitching where we celebrate the art of creating hand stitched works of art.

To celebrate our Slow Sunday theme, I have a video to share with you today to remind us to enjoy every minute of every precious day!

I have been working on my next Life Is Beautiful block and have made progress on the multitude of circles in this block. Today I will be outlining the creature (is it a ladybug?) and stitching the words. This is block 27 of 32 applique blocks, so I am starting to see the finish line on this step of the project (you can see the first 13 applique blocks on the design wall here).
What are you hand stitching today? We love to see your project and encourage you on your slow stitching journey. Link up your blog post below...

Sweet video and yet another pretty embroidery block ! I don't want to feel TOO too slow just yet, lol...I have to mow some grass this morning before it gets too hot later on.

Well that's me crying into my coffee cup! My baby leaves home at the end of the month to train as an Army nurse, very proud of her but going to miss her so much

What a nice video and sentiment! The end really is in sight on your Life is Beautiful sewing - on the embroidery anyway! Looking so good!

Thanks for sharing such a beautiful video Kathy! It brought tears to my eyes as I thought of my own children all grown up now and raising their own little treasures. Rather than slowing down however, I think children grow up much faster today than they did when my children were growing up. Such a shame! Your Life is Beautiful blocks are coming along so well! That almost looks like a caterpillar to me :*)

I love the sentiment of that block. Divine chaos is what we are living right now.

The video really hit home with me. Dear Daughter starts her senior year of high school in a little over a week. You do start wondering where the time has gone. Enjoy your slow stitching Sunday.

The video was so beautiful and so true. I wish every young parent who can't put down their cell phone and engage with their child could see it.

Thank you for the video. I have been trying to hard to slow things down and appreciate every moment. Your stitchery is great!

You just wanted to make me cry, didn't you? That was a tender video. Even though he is 31, DS#1 moved out of our valley yesterday and I found it kind of heart wrenching. He hasn't lived at home for many years, but has been near enough to come to Sunday dinner and attend a nephew's soccer game, or a niece's dance recital.
The block you are stitching says it well--embrace whatever is going on.
Exciting to see you coming so close to a finish on your blocks!

I'm constantly wishing I could slow time, my son's 18 now and I'm just holding my breath for the day to come :( I can't bear to think about it, so I'm off to sew something (his feet to the floor?!?!?). It's amazing how far you've come with these blocks already Kathy - each and everyone's so beautifully stitched, I'm looking forward to the next stage :)

Everytime I saw your blocks from Life is beautiful quilt I wish to stitch them someday. It is beautiful and your first blocks are looking gorgeous together. Love the video, I hope my kids 28 and 25 years) know I am their fan forever. Thanks for sharing. Today I slow stitched watching the Olympic games. Have a great week!
